The Mezzanine Cafe is located on the first floor in Earls newsagents and is an ideal place to relax and take time out from the days’ chores.

The cafe is spacious and bright with welcoming staff onhand to help you choose from their many dishes of homemade healthy fare.

Under the management of Valerie Mc Hugh, the Mezzanine cafe focuses on healthy eating habits and everything in the cafe is homemade and locally sourced, supporting local business.

Using traditional recipes their cakes are to die for and their homemade scones served with jam and cream have been voted the best in Wicklow!

The cafe ethos focuses both on healthy eating and community involvement and to this end they run events promoting local business within the cafe and local artists can display their art for sale on the cafe walls.

The Mezzanine cafe transforms into Wicklow Jazz Cafe with Jazz and acoustic events a recent addition to the cafe.

Currently the Wicklow Jazz Cafe run Monthly Sunday Jazz sessions during the lunchtime with recent musician Mia Parsons performing there in November.

Valerie and staff have plans to increase the music events to be run on a weekly basis in the new year and plan to showcase local talent and feature well known musicians from near and far.

The gig nites are BYOB ( Bring Your Own Beer) events and admission is free unless otherwise stated.

The Mezzanine cafe is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and open on Sundays when an event is taking place – see our facebook/twitter for times.

In a Rush? Order your lunch in advance and collect via the takeway which has access from the back car park (supervalu), making it convenient for collection pickup.

Wicklow's Historic Gaol

Steeped in history spanning the 1798 rebellion, the famine and prisoner
transportation era right up to the Irish War of Independence and Civil
War, Wicklow Gaol is open all year round for historic tours and events
with a ghostly difference.

Officially declared 'most haunted' by the US Paranormal channel Ghost
Hunter's International investigation into the building, visitors can
experience the paranormal for themselves this autumn.

Twice a month top Irish and international psychics lead overnight
paranormal investigations from 9pm until the early hours.

Moving tables, strange sounds and mysterious happenings are part and parcel of the experience. For a lighter introduction to the ghosts, the gaol also runs night tours on the last Friday of every month.

The Cats Pyjamas Cattery is a purpose built facility located in Wicklow Town.

It consists of only 9 large kennels, therefore providing a very personalised service, ensuring your cats happiness.

Each kennel is action packed with scratching posts, different levels and climbing poles so that your cats environment is stimulating for both mind and body and occupies your cats curiosity.

We have double and single kennels and all are cosy, clean, spacious and bright.

The kennels are in a central heated building so that the temperature is always regulated.

Judys Qualifications include:
*FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Animal Care
*City & Guilds Advanced Certificate in Animal Care
*Diploma in Animal Care from B.I.F.E

Topics covered included:
Practical Animal Care, Pre Vet Nursing, Animal Handling, Animal Behavior,
Animal Welfare, Animal Psychology - to name a but few.

While attending college Judy also worked part time at the Dublin SPCA and part time as a trainee veterinary nurse.

Preparing to Board Your cat:
All cats boarding at The Cats Pyjamas Cattery must be up-to-date on all vaccinations, worming and flea treatments, this is for your own cats well being, proof of vaccinations is required.

If you would like to visit the cattery you are more than welcome to view before confirming dates. All drop off, collections and viewings are by appointment only.

We also provide a text or facebook service, so you can hear and see how your cat is getting on each day of their holiday if you want to!

On arrival you will have to fill out a form so please give yourself enough time to have your vaccination cards checked and to complete the checking in form.
